This blog is all about the news and members of the California Genealogical Society, but in four years this is a first. In fact, I don't recall ever seeing this type of announcement in any genealogical society publication. Ladies and gentleman: "It's A Girl!"
When member Gabby Kojder sent photos of her latest project we just couldn't resist introducing the newest little member of the CGS family.
Eliza Jane Kojder arrived Wednesday, August 10, 2011.
Welcome to the world, Eliza, and congratulations to your family!

Welcome Eliza!!!
Welcome to future member Eliza!
Hi Kathryn,
While the Santa Barbara County Genealogical Society cannot lay claim to the first It's a GIRL announcement, we can lay claim to an earlier birth announcement. In our TreeTips newsletter of January 2011 is this:
" WELCOME TO JOHN WILLIAM KRAUSE It's not often TreeTips can announce the birth of a member's child, but we're privileged and delighted to announce the birth of John William, first child of new SBCGS member Jeffrey Krause (who was our meeting speaker in October: "O William Where Art Thou?: A Gen-Y Genealogy Odessey") and his wife Leah. Young JWK was introduced to the world on Friday 26 Nov 2010, 20-in long, and weighing 9lb 15oz. Sincere congratulations to Leah and Jeff and a warm, warm welcome to John William Krause."
John William Krause attended his first genealogy society meeting, with his dad, on January 15th and was royally oohed and aahed over!
Final tidbit: we're not sure there were ANY prior birth announcements for our society which has been in existence since 1972.
On behalf of the SBCGS, we extend our congratulations and welcome to Eliza Jane.
Cari Thomas
