Some CGS members may not be familiar with blog carnivals – collections of articles written about a specific theme. The host blog presents the edition (think magazine) and provides links to each blog article submitted.
The Carnival of Genealogy was invented by Jasia of Creative Gene in June 2006. There are two editions published each month and the CGSL blog is honored to be hosting the 82nd edition.

My favorite genealogy society is the California Genealogical Society and Library, located at 2201 Broadway, Suite LL2, Oakland, CA.
I have been volunteering for the past three years because I enjoy being with fun-loving, interesting people.
So if you are working on your family tree/history, do drop in you won't be disppointed.
I have many so won't post a specific but will tell you on my blog post that there are many great reasons to belong to a society, or even start one.
